Critiques and Gallery 4th Championship Show

17th September 2006
Judge: MR BILL BLACKER - CROSSGUNS (UK)
.
I would like to thank the STBC of NNSW Inc for inviting me to judge their 4th Championship show. My entry was very good as was the quality of Staffords. I know that most exhibitors travelled many miles for this show and I thank everyone for entering under me and the sporting way they accepted my decisions. My ring steward Anne was superb she did not stop working all day and made sure that things ran smoothly in the ring which made my job a lot easier. My last thanks is to Steven and Belinda Hughes, the hospitality shown to both myself and my wife Jo during our stay with them was excellent. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and appreciated how welcome they made us feel in their home. As I mentioned before the quality of Staffords was very good. All my winners had strength in head, ample bone, balance, fitness and in my opinion are what a stafford should be. Having said that, there were some exhibits which needed more substance, some which needed to be fitter and attention needs to be paid to mouths as there were some with tight if not converging K9s. Exhibitors and judges both at home and overseas must remember what the standard says about this breed, and also remember that a bitch should not look different to a dog.
